ARUM, Barbara  (1937- ) sculptor, Accord, New York.
          Full name: Barbara Mandelbaum Arum.
          Born Des Moines, Iowa, 9 October 1937.

          Educated: University of Michigan.
          Trained under Ray Rocklin, wood carving;
          Chaim Gross; Phil Listengart, wax, bronze casting;
          Silvermine Atts Center, clay modeling.
          Works in style: abstract, abstracted figurative.
          Her three-dimensional sculptures have strong vertical
          dimensions, she calls totems. Her medallic creations
          stress nature and saving the environment.
