BAUMGARTEN, Julius  (fl 1862-1880) seals, dies, guns.
          Groce and Wallace state born ca 1835 in Germany. The Baumgarten family came to America and 
          Baltimore 1852, active as sealmakers, diesinkers. Father was Selig Baumgarten (q.v.). Julius in Richmond, 
          VA, in 1862; was engraver for Sutherland's Gun Store, he relocated Washington, DC, and in seal & 
          engraving business with brother William (1880-?).
