BETTS, Alpheus Elijah  (1876-1950) diesinker, Waterbury.
          Born Watertown, Connecticut, 30 November 1876.
          In city directories (1899-1950). Beginning in 1906
          Betts worked two years for Edwin Biggerstaff (q.v.),
          in an independent diesinking business (perhaps where
          he learned diesinking). After that he worked two years
          for Waterbury Company (for whom he had previously
          worked 1899-05), then worked for Scovill continuiously
          from 1909 until his retirement 1943.
          Died 31 August 1950, Waterbury, Connecticut.
