BOGARDUS, William   Credited as an engraver, diesinker, but Groce and Wallace state that this name was applied to the work of James Bogardus, and that there is no evidence William Bogardus was an artist; Falk states a New York house painter had this name and may be source of the confusion. Benezit list both without further explanation.
