BUFANO, Beniamino  (1898-1970) Italian-American sculptor.
          Full name: Beniamino Benvenuto Bufano.
          Born San Fele, Italy, 15 February 1898 (some accounts
          say 1889).  Came to America and New York City 1915.
          Exhibited a single medal in 1912 and several medals (all
          unspecified) in 1916 at the National Academy of Design,
          and medal plaster models of unknown medals at the Art
          Institute of Chicago in 1917.
          He moved to San Francisco to work on Pan-Pacific Expo
          sculpture 1915, traveled to Europe, India, Orient for four
          years, returned to San Francisco 1921.
          Died San Francisco, California, August 1970.
