BURANELLI, Felicity  (1893-1947) sculptor, issuer.
Alternate spelling: Buranalli. (Her brother spelled the family
name – shown on his medal – as Burnelli without the “a.”)
            Felicity born 6 December 1893.
Her concept of a medal series issued like books, one-a-month,
was interrupted by World War II with four issued before,
remaining eight after. Ten of her medals were of aviation themes
(and the series could have been called the Aviation Medal-of-
the-Month Club). The tenth medal honored her brother, Vincent
Burnelli, an aviator killed in the Koean war. The last two of
childrens’ interest. Miss Buranelli undoubtedly designed the
medals and had sculptor friends prepare the models for her.
Died New York City, 17 November 1979.
Major work on her and the series: Harry Waterson’s 2012 catalog:
The Medal-Of-The-Month Club Produced, Written and Directed by FelicityBuranelli; published by the author.

[Cataloger's note: The casual issuance of these medals was not
recognized as a typical medal series and not numbered as such
when I originallycataloged these at Medallic Art Co, which
produced all her medals. I have kept intact the catalog numbers
originally issued and added a sequential number in an assumed
         order.–DWJ]
