CAUNOIS, Francois Augustin  (1787-1859) French sculptor, medalist.
          Born Bar-sur-Ornain, Meuse, France, 13 June 1787.
          A prodigious medalist, his specialty was portraits.
          Noted in America for his portrait of Lafayette.
          Died Paris 1859.
