CECERE, Gaetano  (1894-1985) sculptor, medalist.
          Born New York City, 26 November 1894.
          Onetime director sculpture department Beaux-Arts
          Institute of Design. Created reliefs for United States
          Captitol, Jacksonville Florida Federal Reserve Bank,
          Brookgreen Gardens, Norton Gallery, and others.
          Exhibited often at National Academy of Design (1917-
          1949) including his Society of Medalists medal in 1934
          and unnamed but probably his American Academy in
          Rome Medal in 1936.
          
          Died Greenwich, Connecticut, 1985.
          Signed models with GC initials.
          Fellow: National Sculpture Society.
          Winner 1935 National Sculpture Society Lindsey Morris
          Prize for best bas-relief (including medallic art).
