CHARNLEY, James A.  (1840ca-1899) diesinker. Providence, Rhode Island.
          Listed as a die cutter in city directories during Civil War years,
          forming his own business in 1866. An 1981 article suggest he
          was the engraver of Cival War tokens issued by William H.
          Charnley.
