CRAIN, Darrell Clayton  (1878-1969) designer, jeweler.
            Born 21 October 1878.
            Employed as engraver, R. Harris & Co, jewelry firm,
            in partnership with Clarence Pearson, Pearson & Crain
            (1924-), owner D.C. Crain Jewelry Company (-1966).
            Designed official Inaugural medals for three presidents.
            Died Falls Church, Virginia, January 1969.
            A collection of Inaugural medals was formed by his son,
            Dr Darrell Crain Junior, and donated in his father's honor
            to the Gelman Library, George Washington University,
            dedicated 16 May 1976, where it is on permanent exhibit.
