DASSIER, Jean  (1676-1763) Swiss-British engraver.
          Also John Dassier.

          Born Geneva, Switzerland, 1676.

          He created coins for Geneva for over fifty years, but
          he is most noted for his many series of medals: French
          Celebrities (72 medals,  French sovereigns, Reformers
          (24 medals), History of Geneva, Genevese Theologians
          and Roman History (with his son, Antoine).
          He came to England1728 and three years later issued his
          series Kings and Queens of England (William I to George II),

          Died 1763.
