ECKFELDT, John Jacob  (?1735- ) Colonial American machinist.
          Born Nuremberg, Germany, ca 1735. Came to America 1765.

          Robert Morris paid him for four Nova Constellation dies in 1783 but these were probably engraved by Benjamin           Dudley (q.v.) and maybe A. Dubois (q.v.).

          He was the father of mint employee Adam Eckfeldt (q.v.).
