GAGE, Merrell  (1892-1981) sculptor, medalist.
          Full name: Robert Merrell Gage.
          Born Topeka, Kansas, 26 December 1892.
          Apprenticed to Gutzon Borglum 1914-16, and 1921-23.
          Taught at three organizaions: Washburn College, Kansas City
          Art Institute, University of Southern California at Los Angeles.
          Created two reel short film Face of Lincoln on Mount
          Rushmore which won an Acaemy Award, 1955.
          Died Santa Monica, California, 30 October 1981.
          Fellow: National Sculpture Society.
