GIBBS, John  (fl 1830-1841) Early American engraver, diesinker, private mint official.
          A partner with Joseph B. Gardner in Belleville Mint of
          New Jersey (1830-39). Active during the Hard Time Era
          stricking Hard Times tokens. Gibbs undoubtedly engraved
          many of the items struck by this mint. See Producers section.
