GMINDER, Jacob  (1831-1898) Early American diesinker,
          chaser, badgemaker, silverplater, Baltimore.
          Born Reutlingen, Württemberg, Germany, 24 April 1831.
          Unknown when he came to America.
          Began as silverplater ca 1859, manufactured coffin
          trimmings at first, later military goods, Masonic,
          Odd Fellow emblems, lodge regalia, police badges,
          and theatrical goods. In 1885 employed 35 people in
          his three-story building.
          Died Baltimore, Maryland, 10 September 1898.
          Business was acquired by J. Arthur Limerick (q.v.)
          in 1902 and so stated in 1904 city directory.
