HINTON, Charles Louis  (1869-1950) sculptor, medalist, watercolorist.
          Born Ithaca, New York, 18 October 1869.
          Signed models CLH monogram, C and H separate circles;
          H, CH or CLH initials.
          In 1928 Hinton exhibited a frame of his medals at the
          National Academy of Design in New York City (no. 181).
          In 1929 an exhibit was built by Whitehead & Hoag of
          Hinton's 1924 Lincoln Medal "How Medals Are Made"
           (see below) of all steps of manufacture from clay model
          to finished medal, now the property of Newark Museum.
          Fellow: National Sculpture Society. 
          Died Bronxville, New York, 12 October 1950.
