HOOPER, Joseph  (1833-1919) Canadian-American numismatist, designer.
          Born Plymouth, England, 19 February 1833.
          Came to America and Canada September 1851. Active
          in numismatics in both countries, early supporter of the
          American Numismatic Association (4th president 1898-
          1901); designed organization's seal.
          Died Rochester, New York 16 February 1919.
          Named to ANA Hall of Fame 1974.
