ISKOWITZ, Joel  (1946- )  designer, illustrator, painter, sculptor; educator, lecturer.
          Born Bronx, New York, 15 August 1946.     
          Educated  Yale Summer School of Art 1967. Hunter
          College,; studied etching and engraving. received BF
          in Art 1968 

          Early work in medical illustration, book covers, design
          of stamps (first 1977), etching and engraving. He does
          extensive research for realistic art in designs for all media.
          Works in three styles: neo-classical, post modern, narrative.

          Appointed to the U.S. Mint’s Artistic Infusion Program     
          and named a Master Designer 2005. First coin in 2006:
          Iskowitz designed the reverse of the U.S. American Eagle
          Platinum Coin (struck by U.S. Mint). His designs have
          appeared on five categories of U.S. Mint coins and medals.
          His reverse of the 2008 Arizona State quarter series – and
          Illinois reverse of the 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial Cent Series
          – are his most notable circulating coins.

          An accomplished designer of postage stamps, in excess of

          He painted a mural Discovedries of Visiion for thye Air
          Force Department at the Pentagon, 2011, and Cargo of
          Freedom mural for the U.S Air Force/NATO terminal in   location
          His oil painting Sources of Light, 1996 is in permanent
          Collection at the Kennedy Space Center Museum.  

          An early appointee to Signature Art Medals Art Team (2009)
          when he produced an elaborate lithograph, Birth of the Lincoln
          Cent, showing artist Victor D. Brenner sketching President
          Theodore Roosevelt for the Panama Canal Medal.
