JOHNSON, William B.  (fl 1825-76) engraver, Hartford, CT.
           Name variation: William Johnston.

           Advertised (1844) as engraver of gold and silver medals.
           For a time (1849-1860) he was in Covington, Kentucky
           and Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was associated with H.
           Johnson, a probable relative. William is back in Connecticut,
           this time listed in 1876 New England business directory
           as an engraver of medals, badges, seals, door plates and
           did flat engraving.

           There is a diesinker card from Cincinnati bearing the
           name "W. Johnston" which may, or may not, be this man.
