KONTI, Isidore  (1862-1938) Austrian-American sculptor, medalist.
            Born Vienna, Austria, 9 July 1862. Came to America 1891.
            Helped prepare sculpture for Columbian Exposition
            Agriculture and Administration buildings, Chicago 1892;
            then in 1904 created Atlantic and Pacific fountains for
            Saint Louis Louisiana Purchase Exposition.
            Located Yonkers, New York, active with sculptors in
            New York City area. Worked in Beaux Arts tradition.
            Speciality statuettes, bookends, groups, busts.
            His Isidore and Jewish Settlement medals infrequently
            and incorrectly attributed to Julio Kilenyi because of
            similarity of initials.

            Died Etaples, France, 11 January 1938.
            Signed models I.K. initials.
            Fellow: National Sculpture Society.
            Director: Municipal Art Society.
