MATZEN, Herman N.  (1861-1938) Danish-American sculptor.
            Born Loit Kjerkeby, Denmark, 15 July 1861.
            Trained in Berlin and Munich. Came to America and
            Detroit about 187 1922-038 0, later removed to Cleveland.

            Created sculptures of Richard Wagner, Thomas White,
            Schiller, Moses, Gregory the Great, War and Peace,
            The Two Akrons, Law and Justice.

            Died Cleveland, Ohio, 22 April 1938.
