MEADE, Henry R.  (1823-1865) daguerreotypist.
          Both born in England, Charles Richard 21 March 1826;
          Henry R. in 1823.

          These were the famed "Meade Brothers" who were active in
          photographing Albany, New York City (1842) and Niagara
          Falls. The brothers traveled to London in 1851, returned to
          America, opened a gallery in NYC at 233 Broadway in 1852,
          and issued a storecard (illustrated in E8 {1954} Kenney).
          Again traveling overseas to Paris Expo in 1855 and to Russia.
          They presented daguerreotypes of American scenes and
          persons to the kings of France and Russia.
          Charles Richard died in Florida, 2 March 1858.
          Henry R. died a suicide, New York City, 1 January 1865.
