MESZAROS, Michael  (1945- ) Australian sculptor, architect.
            Born Melbourne, Australia, 11 April 1945.
            Trained by his father, Andor Meszarros, a sculptor and
            Medallist, beginning  age 13.

Educated: University of Melbourne, certificate in architecture.
Received Churchill Scholarship for year’s study at Zecca
Mint School in Rome, for study in medallic art, 1969.
Ceated Australian Bicenbtennial Medal 1988 (3.2 million
struck), also Bicentennial Souvenir Medal (140,000 struck).
Works in a style suitable to for each medal’s purpose.

Member: American Medallic Sculpture Association, 1995-
Member: Federation Intenational de la Medaile, 1960-;
Australian delegate since 1972.
Member (officer): Association of Sculptors of Victoria, 1967-
Awarded American Numismatic Association’s Award for
            Excellence in Medallic Sculpture (formerly called Medallist     
            of the Year), 2011, the 42nd such recipient of this award.
            Association of Victoria Sculptors 1st prize, ten times.
