MILLER, Richard McDermott  (1922-2004) sculptor, medalist.
          Born New Philadelphia, Ohio, 30 April 1922.
          Explored abstract sculpture early in career, turned
          to human figure and more realistic sculpture in 1963.
          Author (with wife), Figure Sculpture in Wax and Plaster,
          published 1971 by Watson-Guptill, reprinted by Dover Books.
          Creation of his work, The Saint James Triad, chronicled
          in 1998 book, Voices in Bronze, by Palmedo and Hicks.
          Member, president: National Academy of Design.
          Fellow, president: National Sculpture Society.
          Member: National Sculptor's Guild.
          Instructor in figure sculpture, Queens College, NYC
          (1962-1992).

          Died New York City, 25 December 2004.
