MOORE, Charles  (1855-1942) Fine Arts Commissioner.
           Born Ypsilanti, Michigan, 20 October 1855.

           Appointed by President Taft to Fine Arts Commission
           in 1910, and reappointed by six succeeding presidents,
           serving 28 years (1910-1937; 24 years as chairman). As
           such he influence design of coins and medals struck by
           US Mint, as commission had to approve all new designs.

           Died Gig Harbor, Washington, 26 September 1942.
