MOSSOP, William Stephen Jr.  (1788-1827) Irish diesinker.
Born Dublin, Ireland, 1788. He engraved his first die,
a medal for Society for Promoting Charter Schools in
Ireland, in 1805 at age 17, learning from his father,
a medalist (who died a year or two later).

Mossop operated the diesinking shop established by
his father, in Dublin, until his death. His most noted
work was prize medals for the Irish Academy. 

In 1820 he commenced a medallic series of Irish
notables, producing six before his death.
He died in 11 August 1827.
