MOWBRAY-CLARKE, John Frederick  (1869-1953) British  sculptor, medalist.
          Born Annotta Bay, Jamaica, West Indies, 4 August 1869
          of British parents. Educated in England. Came to America
          for one year, 1897, worked with sculptor J. Massey Rhind,
          returned to England. In America 1906-19 where he was
          instructor Finch School, New York City. He exhibited
          two frames of medals at the winter show of the National
          Academy of Design in 1911 (nos 63 and 67), and a bronze
          statue at the Art Institue of Chicago in 1899 and a frame
          of medals AE2 (1912) number 315. Worked in Canada,
          1920-26; then returned to England.

          Died Oxford, England, 3 November 1953.
