ORMSBY, John S.  (1806-1876) diesinker, issuer and physician.
           Born Pennsylvania, 23 August 1806.
           Migrated to Sacramento, California (departing Saint Joseph,         
           Missouri 14 April 1949) with a brother, Major William Ormsby.
           John set up his mint near the goldfields and struck coins in 1849
           and 1850. Later he practiced medicine.
           Died Logan, Utah, 4 October 1876.
