PACKER, Francis Herman  (1873-1957) German-American sculptor.
          Born Munich, Germany, 13 February 1873.
          Died Rockville Centre, New York, 13 July 1957.
          Fine Arts Commissioner Charles Moore (q.v.) recommended
          Laura Gardin Fraser and four other sculptors, including
          Francis Packer, to local committee for creating the Hudson
          New York Sesquicentennial commemorative half dollar
          The coin was ultimately created by Chester Beach (q.v.).
          Member: National Sculpture Society.
