PEALE, Charles Willson  (1741-1827) Early American painter.
          Born Queen Anne's County, Maryland, 15 April 1741.
          Was famous painter, museum owner. His full length painting
          of  George Washington in United States Capitol. Married
          three times, he was the father of 17 children– many with
          artists names, including Raphaelle, Rembrandt, Rubens
          and Titian. He was also father of Franklin Peale (q.v.)
          who worked at U.S. Mint 1833-70.
          Died Philadelphia, 22 February 1827.
          Longest entry in Falk's Who Was Who in American Art.
