PEDETREAU, Maltby  (fl 1813-26) Early American
silversmith, medal publisher, issuer of 1826 Erie Canal
Completion Medal. Senior partner of Pedetreau, Benett
& Cooke (at 170 Broadway, New York City), firm of
          goldsmiths, silversmiths.

Rulau incorrectly spells last name PELLETREAU and
suggests Maltby Pedetreau as a possibility for the MP
counterstamped punch on a Feuchtwanger 3-cent token
HT 461 in S60 {2001} Rulau, Hard Times Tokens.
For entry on Erie Canal Medal see Archibald Robertson,
designer, or Charles Cushing Wright, engraver.
