PILKINTON, James E.  (1833-1871) British American
          engraver, diesinker, Albany, New York, and Baltimore.
          Born England 1833. Came to America before 1856.
          Engraver in Albany 1856-1866, in partnership Pilkinton
          & Joyce (with John Joyce) 1867-69; in True & Pilkinton
          (with Daniel True) 1856-57; in Baltimore 1858-71.
          The only item to be directly attributed to him is his
          storecard which listed only his last name as “maker.”
         
          In 1870 worked at Interior Department, Washington.
          Died 13 December 1871, Saint Paul, Minnesota.
