POLASEK, Albin  (1879-1965) Morovian-American sculptor.
          Born Frenstat, Moravia, 14 February 1879.
          Came to America 1901.
          
          Polasek was married twice. His first wife, Ruth Sherwood
          (q.v.), also a sculptor medalist, wrote his biography (see
          References below). His second wife Emily, wrote a
          second biography. A  foundation in his name was
          established 1961 on the grounds of his studio in Winter
          Park, Florida, with a museum and sculpture gardens.
          It is administered by the University of Central Florida.
          
          His created bust of Daniel Boone in N.Y. Univ Hall of Fame.
          He was Academician: National Academy of Design.
          Fellow: National Sculpture Society.
          Died Winter Park, Florida, 19 May 1965.
