Born Catskill, New York, 14 March 1800.
He may have used name: William Bogardus (q.v.).
Inventor of machines for flat engraving and printing
postage stamps, 1839. His wife was also an artist, some
references to her as Mrs. William Bogardus.
Died New York City, 13 April 1874.
