Born Braintree, Massachusetts, 1865.
Two statues by him (Charles Carroll of Carrollton
and John Hanson) in United States Capitol.
Created 15 or more circular plaques of Boston mayors.
Specialized in portrait bas-reliefs, He exhibited 19
medals in a frame in 1907 at the National Academy
of Design (number 395). His bust of Governor
Russell in Boston State House
Brooks one of first American sculptors to become
familiar with Janvier pantograph’s reduction of models
operated by HenriWeil in New York city, however
none of his medals can be documented to have been
reduced or struck by Medallic Art Company.
Awarded medal for his statue General Cass, 1899.
Died Washington, DC, 2 May 1919.
