CHARPENTIER, Alexandre (1856-1909) French medalist, sculptor.
Full name: Alexandre Louis Marie Charpentier.
Born Paris, 10 January 1856.
His most important medal, Maternity, was issued by
the Société de la Médaille FranHoise and struck by
the Paris Mint. But for collectors it was his Janvier et
Duval Medal honoring the firm that developed the
die-engraving pantograph.
Died Neuilly, France, 3 March 1909.
