Full name: Kahlil George Gibran.
Same name as his cousin (1883-1931), the Syrian
artist, mystic, poet, dramatist and author of The Prophet.
Born Boston, Massachusetts, 29 November 1922.
Kahlil Gibran (the younger) both medallic artist and
collector of medals.
Received George Widener Medal from Pennsylvania Academy
Of Fine Arts, 1958; John S. Guggenheim Fellowship, 1959-61;
National Institute of Arts and Letters Award, 1961.
He and his wife, Jean English Gibran, wrote a biography
of the elder Kahlil Gibran, published 1974.
Member: National Sculpture Society.
Died Boston, 13 April 2008.
