PINGO, Thomas  (1692-1776) British engraver, diesinker.
          Born Italy, 1692.
          Came to England about 1745. Appointed assistant engraver
          British Royal Mint 1771, served until his death, when his
          son, Lewis Pingo (q.v.) succeeded him; son John Pingo
          (q.v.) also an engraver.
          Died London, December 1776.
