PRETAT, William H. ( ) engraver, Boston, Attleboro.
Upon his retirement from business, Joseph H. Merriam (q.v.)
sold his firm (circa 1875) to Clarence J. Brigham (q.v.) who
operated in Boston for a short time as Brigham & Co. Shortly
afterwards Brigham sold the Boston firm to William H. Pretat
who reestablished the business as Brigham Engraving Company
in Attleboro. William Pretat was probably related to and the
same generation of Charles Pretat of Waterbury, Connecticut.
